Mama Dearest is a Quebec
home-based practice, owned and operated by
Stephanie Dupras, an International Board Certified
Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Doula, Perinatal
Educator and student midwife in the Greater
Montreal region. A mother of four, Stephanie
offers complete prenatal preparation, birth
doula and lactation consultant services, as
well as education for volunteer breastfeeding
support mothers, fellow health professionals
and expectant parents.
The philosophy behind Mama
Dearest is "Mother Friendly" maternity
care, a “Baby Friendly” society
and a child and parent friendly world. We
advocate values such as the demedicalisation
of birth towards respect for the normal
physiological processes of labour, birth
and breastfeeding, natural birth, breastfeeding
and attachment parenting, and support the
WHO/UNICEF International Code of Marketing
of Breastmilk Substitutes. This is why in
this site, one of few Canadian, fully bilingual
websites, we present to you up-to-date,
accurate and evidence-based information,
and related products that we consider to
be of the highest quality.
